My nephew Haqeem has just turned 5 yesterday. I made him a cool B-Day Card :).

Haqeem loves Ben10 cartoon!

So, I caricatured him as Haqeem5. ha!

 And then, I made a simple-springy pop-out card.

Enjoy being 5, Haqeem!!

Current Projects..

I would like to change my blog header but I still can't get down to it. I'm thinking I should 'doodle' my header.. on things that I love doing.. creating.. or maybe something that is more 'me'. Oh well, perhaps I'll have the chance to do it after finishing a few current projects I have in hand.

One of them has just finished and already sent by hand this morning to my lovely client, Emelly. I must tell you how brilliant she was with this creative idea for her wedding next month! By the way, I did her wedding caricature last year too! She was pretty organized and planned her wedding well.. so yes, she prepared many things for her wedding since last year. But last week, she asked whether I could do something like a 'story board' of her beautiful LOVE STORY to display on her wedding ceremony. I simply answered "Yes, I'll try my best".. although I've never done anything like it before. But I just couldn't resist to do this fun idea of hers :). She posted me all her ideas on a sheet of paper, some thumbnails of her storyboard and 4 photos that she wanted me to tie them together with a nice illustration... which I did :).

When I saw her smile upon looking at this illustration board this morning, I felt like flying with joy.. :). All the best, dear Emelly!

The next project I'm still working on is creating a simple and nice Wedding Invitation Card.. it's more of a graphic design work and printing to do later on. My client's dad is more like the 'Creative Director' in the house...hihi. Much of this card idea came from him. He's a pensioner who teaches Qur'an during the weekend, does the landscaping outside in the morning and has a fine taste in interior decorations and crafts! It's no surprise that he is now working on the 'bunga telur' (little gifts with boiled eggs to give to the wedding guests) for her daughter's wedding in November. Wow.

Here's the mock-up I designed. I'll post the finalized version.. hopefully- when everything's confirmed.

Another thing I'm doing and rushing to finish before the weekend is another fun hand-painted ECO BAG project! Again, the order came from one of my most appreciative clients, Kay from BlingLustre! With more events she has planned for her business, she made me created some goodie bags to use for them. I found in my supplier's stock some pink non-woven bags and I know Kay simply loves pink! However, my supplier said that these will be the last pinks he has in stock. Boo hoo! He also said he is discontinuing the cream color bags I used to paint on! What?? But I love doing my artwork on the cream colored ones. So now, I'm stuck with a bunch of LIMITED multi-colored non woven bags in stock- light blue, black, orange, yellow... well, I guess, in the near future you'll see more colorful ECO bags in my creations. Yay!!

Phew! My eyes are quite tired. I must retreat from my project report record right now. An old friend is asking me to create a Logo for a new tuition center and she wanted it to look as grabbing fun as the Artventure Kid's logo I did before... and I must develop a logo for a logistics company which I already proposed a few designs last week.. and now, the boss came back to me with one that he likes but needs more tweaks! I'll sleep on it tonight.. and hopefully more fresh ideas will come tomorrow. yawn..

Till then, enjoy..

A Fun Alphabets Project!

Well, I did this about 9 years ago with my younger brother who was then 10 years old when I saw he had nothing better to do other than watching the TV. Haha!

I asked him to write down a list of things/ animals in Bahasa and English for each alphabets A-Z. It took him quite a while to come up with the list.. and then, he showed it to me. Here's the original copy of the list that he made. Glad I still keep it with me as a remembrance :)

From the list, I asked him to pick up the Alphabets from his nickname, "IM" and choose which animal/ things he liked.

And then I made a small illustration for him.

"I" for Ikan (fish) and "M" for Manggis (Mangosteen)

He really loved it and asked me to do one for his best friend, Zul.

"Z"- Zirafah, "U"- Ular, "L"- Loceng

From the illustrations, I made his name stickers which he later put on many of his properties. A week later, he came to me with a list of his friends' names.. who would like to have such stickers too! My brother said he's charging his friends RM1.00 for one fun name sticker.  Haha.. I was quite surprise.. Was this a businessman in the making? Well, I don't know.. but one thing for sure, he was happy to earn a little extra pocket money!

So.. if you have a kid, why don't you try this little project at home? He or she could learn the alphabets and draw+color too! Put the final product on his bedroom door or decorate her room with it.

But if you want me to do one for you, juz let me know... alrite?

More sample of Fun Alphabets!

Enjoy :)

Farewell Boss!

A friend of mine and her colleagues are going to throw a farewell party to their beloved Boss who is going to transfer to a different office next month. Instead of some 'usual' gifts for a man such as.. an expensive tie..or a set of perfume.. or clothing.. or a plaque of the company's logo..etc., the team ordered a Caricature- not just the Boss but the whole team too!

Now, that's something a Boss will never forget. Don't you think? hihi..

Enjoy!

Event News: "Mom's Day Out"!

Every moms deserves a "day out".. by herself or with her friends! What more when the day out involves something that will enrich her in many ways.. well, shopping may do that too but this is quite different!

I had the opportunity to design a fun flyer and eco-bags for this event organized by BlingLustre owned by a very enterprising lady-Kay :)! I love working with her especially when she gave me the freedom to come up with a design and she really appreciates Art and Handmade stuffs! To know more about the event, please check out her site and contact her soon. I heard the seats are still available.

As of right now.. I'm still doing the event's eco-bags as their goodie-bags :)... 45 pieces altogether. Phew! They may look quite simple but they took me.. many.. many days to finish because the details are all hand-drawn & painted! Yup. Good luck to me... ngee..ngee..^_^

Enjoy!

A Hand Painted B-day Card 4 A Boy!

Above was a commissioned birthday card for a 1 year old boy! I would love to craft something on the card but I think, I'm a much better painter than a crafter..teeheehee. I finished it up with spots of silver glitters around the card and the blue glitters on the clouds. My client gave me freedom to make the card but gave me a clue that she will give an 'engineer' theme of soft working tools as a gift to the lucky nephew.

Well, I hope all of them will like the card :).

What to do-or..?

I rarely do crafts. Really. Not because I'm not good at it (erkhem2x..!) but.. I like to draw & paint more.

I just had to use her cute little face here! eee..!!!

Today I've done something I haven't done in years. It's quite an 'ancient' craft because I remember that the last time I did this must be before I was even a teenager. And it's all because of the door.

Yup.. The door leading to my messy studio room. As this is a rented apartment, I refrained myself from using any hammer and nails.. so I thought I'll just stick to double-sided tapes- which worked just fine but I don't know for how long.

I'm calling this as some kind of an installation Art Project...hehe.. Well, I'm just going to decorate the door with a variety of stuff.. or junks that I've collected over the years.

Here's what I've got so far: An aeroplane that I put together from a leftover mounting board... a couple of clouds from the soft wrapping sheets that came with the printer early this year.. a small plastic-gift-box from my friend's wedding.. that hanging bookmark which I bought in Korea last 4 years.. and uh, that white frame which was designed for car plate numbers- I had it with me for more than 10years already. I think I bought it in the States.

Now, back to the 'ancient' craft I was talking about..
As you might have suspected.. I always looked forward for Art Classes during school days. I'm sure many of you know this craft..but I can't recall what's the name of this technique ..? Do you know?

I still remember when the Art teacher (who was also our math, english, ilmu alam & kajian tempatan and maybe Pendidikan Jasmani .. teacher too) reminded us to bring any types of papers to school- from magazines or newspaper, some glue/ kanji, scissors and a mechanical pencil with hard nose... as the next day we were going to have a craft project. So.. I'll be coming to school armed with the stuff and ready to take on any new Art&Craft challenges. At that time, this seemed to be a more enjoyable thing to do. But today, I thought, "Sheesh! Leceh plak mende nih.. why it's taking so long..?".. Oh well, age is catching up..perhaps?

Finally, it's done.. not really..but I just had to stop there.

Phew..! And this is just a small dimension. I wonder how I managed to accomplish something like this on a full sheet of drawing paper with buah-buahan tempatan/ local fruits? Was I more patient as a little kid?

A little peek at my messy Studio..jeng jeng.

Aahh.. That's all for now, folks! I'm off to do some painting. I've more patience for that.. heh.

Enjoy your weekend..wherever you are.

I hope I'm going to have a nice one since my anniversary is coming up on Sunday :). No biggie.. Just received a new laptop from bee which I'm so thankful and totally excited about. It was such a nice surprise gift..now I'm not sure what to get him..? huuu.

The Fabulous Foursome!

Well, I've just finished an order from a huge fan of .. you know which band :)... The BEATLES! This is definitely cool because now you can enjoy my Caricature on the ECO Non Woven Bags. Woohooo! (heh- syok sendirii.. ). Owh, by the way, the price for Caricature is different..please contact me personally for any inquiry.

In this series of EcoBag.. it's quite simple as I focused on the Caricatures in black&white with a touch of Green color.

Here's Paul McCartney with "The Green and Winding Road"

John Lennon with "Let it Be".. I mean, "Let it Green.."

George Harrison with "Here Comes the Green"

And their awesome drummer, Ringo Starr with "Green Submarine"

Already. Now that you have seen them. I'd like to share a song from one of my Beatles favorite- with animation! :). Enjoy...

Love is..

Who's in the mood for love?

What is love, anyway..? Believe me, you could hear so many answers for that particular question. Just like Art, LOVE is very.. very.. subjective. Only YOU know the answer if you've experienced it in your life. For those who believe they never experienced what Love is..., pity.. because it's actually always there.. within you..
