A Short Visit to Ganu

It's rainy season in the East Coast of Malaysia right now.

There was no escape from it when we went there last weekend.
However, when the rain stopped once in a while... Mr.Bee quickly drove Baby Zain and I to a few of Kuala Terengganu 'Hot Spots' (for us, at least).

Early in the morning, we couldn't see the sun rise because it was so cloudy... but we still wanted to bring Baby Zain to see the beach at Pantai Batu Burok.

Here's the result:

Yup. He slept all the way... tsk tsk tsk.

So, we made our way to a breakfast stall which was in Jalan Panji Alam.
I would say, they have one of the best nasi lemaks and nasi dagangs in Ganu. Yummy2x...

Not even 8am yet customers were already in queue. Yikes!

when I was in the Primary school back in 1980s :)

While we had our breakfast, it rained again... and thanks to Allah by the time we finished, the sky was quite clear and beautiful.

We hopped on the car and decided to go to Marang because I wanted to take some boat pictures for my future painting reference!

When we reached the Marang Jetty, baby Zain fall asleep yet again. Hihii...

 But I had a good time snapping my boats away...

We also stopped by a stall that sold a local delicacy called Akok. 

It was still made the traditional way... and tasted sooooo good!

After that we had a rest at home while outside it rained cats and goats.

I craved for ICT.

You can't go back to Kuala Terengganu without ICT in one of your hi-tea menus!

So, Mr.Bee drove us to Teluk Ketapang for it.

What ICT am I talking about?

It's 'Ikan Celup Tepung'. 

Not only the fishes were dipped in a special recipe flour and fried but you will find a whole lot of other seafoods ie. prawns and squids too!
Of course, keropok lekor was there if you want. 

Burp!

Sorry. 

I was too busy eating until I forgot to take picture of the food.

Plus, baby Zain was sound asleep on my lap while I was eating 'em.

And when you thought there was nothing much in Kuala Terengganu at night, you'll be surprise to see that the real ICT existed there too!

Here at Kampung Cina... or Dataran Shahbandar as they named it now.

As you can see, baby Zain was wide awake by now.
*Sigh... so much of outdoor loving, son.

But baby Zain was such a sport during our short trip. He didn't make much fuss for the long car ride. 

I know you're tired, baby. 
So much for you to learn and see...
each and everyday of your life.

Baby and School Holidays

School Holidays... oh what FUN!

But Baby Zain doesn't quite understand it just yet.

Alhamdulillah, he is now 7 months plus.
Doing good so far.
Still taking his mother's milk and getting to know some solid food as well...
Getting naughtier, cheekier and lovelier... day by day.
Nope. Still can't crawl nor any indication to walk anytime soon.
But has made several attempts to be on his tummy just to reach his toys.

Ahhh... so much milestones to reach and I'm always around watching him in awe.
For now, works have taken backstage in my life.
In the wee hours, if I'm not too tired, I'll wake up to read, draw and paint... until I hear his cry for milk every 2- 3 hours.
Can't complain much.
After all, more than 35 years of my life... I've had good sleep and beautiful rest.

Oh yes, school holidays!
Schooling cousins of Baby Zain came to Grandma's house... and Baby Zain loves the noise, the people playing with him... and drawing him :)

In a few days time, I'll take him travel to Terengganu.
Hopefully, we'll go to the beach and I can introduce him to the sea :).
He enjoys outdoor.
I can tell :)

TinTin Inspired Birthday Card

My Bee loves TinTin since he was a small boy.



At first, I was thinking to order a TinTin birthday cake at my favorite cake maker Marlynn's for his birthday. But I had to cancel it when we found out how high his sugar level was after a health check-up! Too bad.

So, I ended up creating a TinTin inspired B-day Card instead. Not hand-drawn though...

I've found a nice "group picture" of TinTin and his gang on the net:



What I did next was to super-imposed my Bee's character (which was digitally drawn beforehand) into the group. And when everything was finalized, I printed it out on Art Card 230gsm paper.
                               TADAAA!!!

My sweet client, Hana;)...
she has been asking me to make this simple animation since early this year.

I'm still taking my sweet time completing them all in between baby Zain's short naps and long sleep at night- huhuu!

It sucks when you're not feeling well ( not much work can be done...). Even worse when it's your baby who's not well too. This is so inevitable when you're a Mom, right?

But above all... I thank Allah.
October means another year granted for me to enjoy life. And for me, this year is particularly special because of Baby Zain.
I am slowly but surely... embracing a new experience for a lifetime.
